PeptidePal: Research Companion ("PeptidePal," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS application.
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. Authentication is handled through Firebase Authentication.
User-Generated Content: The app stores data you choose to enter, including:
Device Information: We access UserDefaults for local preferences storage as disclosed in our iOS privacy manifest (API reason: CA92.1). We do not collect device identifiers for tracking purposes.
Apple HealthKit (optional, read-only): If you grant permission, PeptidePal reads the following metrics from Apple HealthKit so you can view them alongside your protocols:
HealthKit data is read from your device and cached locally on-device only (via AsyncStorage). HealthKit data is never uploaded to our servers, Firebase, or any third party. You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in the iOS Settings app (Privacy & Security → Health → PeptidePal) or by disconnecting from within the app, which also clears the local cache.

Your data is stored in Google Firebase Cloud Firestore with security rules that restrict access to your authenticated account only. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (Google-managed encryption). Local data is stored on-device using AsyncStorage.
We do not maintain a separate server or database outside of Firebase services.

Your data is retained in Firebase for as long as your account is active. You may delete individual logs, protocols, or journal entries at any time within the app. To delete your entire account and associated data, contact us at the email address below.
PeptidePal is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
